Welcome to the Coldboot text tutorial.In here i am going to go over the basic things you need to do in order to have a different text when you start the psp.

Coldboot text for All Custom Firmware

I will try and go step by step for someone that has not done this before and needs to start from scratch so here we go

Tools you will need:.
===================
1:.Photoshop
2:.Rco Editor
3:.opening_plugin.rco
4:.Coldboot text Images

Installing Photoshop:.
===================
If you have Photoshop already great just scroll down and go to the next step.If you don't then download it and click the installer you will be greeted with a window like below.To start the process just click next.

Ok once that is done make sure it looks like below then click finish.

You will have a new window pop up after its done extracting that looks like below

Click on the accept button to continue the installation.now go watch some tv or something for it will take a little bit when you come back it should look something like the picture below.

Photoshop is now installed we can now carry on with the tutorial.

Making the text:.
===================
Ok download the Coldboot text Images from above and extract to the desktop.there are two files there like shown below.

Open photoshop and click file,open then browse to the coldboot text.psd like in the picture below.

On the right hand side you will see the layers window.you need to click the channels tab like the picture below.

Now click Alpha 1 channel so its blue and the image in the center window becomes black.

Click the T on the left hand side to edit the font.make sure the color is set to white.pick the font you want and also the size.you can have a single line or two so do whatever suits your needs.once your done editing make sure and deselect the text so to do that at the top of the window click select then in the drop down click deselect.when your done it should look like below.

Ok after your happy with that you need to click on the layers tab and return to the top layer.once that's done it will look like there's nothing there for the alpha channel is hidden.

Click color picker then choose the one you want.now click the bucket fill if its not there right click where it should be and choose it in slide out.now just click anywhere in the image.it will then change to whatever color you chose.have a look at the picture below it should look something like that.

All we have to do next is save the file to do that click file,save as the what ever name you want as long as its in bmp format.

Another window will pop up and choose 32 bit like the picture below,then click ok

Editing the rco:.
===================
Download the rco editor and open the program.when it opens drag the opening_plugin.rco in it.click on the tex_logo and you will see in the preview window what your going to change.look at the picture below.

Click on the replace button now and browse to the image you made with photoshop.

With that done you will see that the image changed in the preview window.have a look at the picture below.

Now that's done you can try it out but nine times out of ten when you change the text there it affects the gameboot logo .saying that it will make a white box or whatever so in order to fix that we will just take that image right out of the picture so to speek.so click the tex_psp_logo and you will see the gameboot logo like the picture below.

Just like before click on the replace button then browse to the other image you downloaded in the start of this tutorial.look at the picture below.

Now you will see the logo is gone and there is a small image in its place just like in the picture below.

Well that's it flash the opening_plugin.rco to flash0:/vsh/resource and try it out.if all went well it should look like mine i did trough out the tutorial.have a look at it below and happy editing
